Job summary

EverHire is seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager (Roadway & Highway) in Tampa, FL. You will lead projects from preliminary through final design, coordinating multiple disciplines and directing teams to deliver turnkey roadway solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in Florida FDOT projects, a Florida PE, and proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer. The role features a hybrid schedule from the Tampa office with flexible remote options.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience designing and delivering Florida (FDOT) transportation projects.
• Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on FDOT work.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering (or higher) and an active Florida PE (required).

Responsibilities

• Lead freeway and non-freeway roadway projects from preliminary to final design, coordinating with hydraulic, traffic, structures, and environmental disciplines to deliver turnkey projects.
• Create plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates; coordinate with reviewers to ensure quality.
• Devise capture strategies for new pursuits — teaming, positioning, resourcing — and contribute to proposals.
• Build and nurture client relationships with FDOT (District 7 and Turnpike Enterprise), county agencies, and municipalities.
• Supervise and mentor staff through design and plan development.

Transportation Project Manager (Roadway & Highway) — Tampa, FL

A growing, nationally recognized multi-disciplined engineering consultancy is hiring a Project Manager for its established Florida transportation practice.

This is a role for an experienced roadway PM who wants ownership — self-performing and directing project teams, nurturing FDOT and municipal client relationships, and leading turnkey projects from preliminary through final design. The team's recent portfolio includes major interstate design-builds, state road (SR) reconstructions, and complex corridor work across Florida.

What you'll do
