Job summary

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. is actively seeking dynamic Engineers at all levels in Montgomery County, PA. The ideal candidate will have project management experience with PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permits and municipal land development projects.

Primary duties include managing large land development projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and overseeing reports, designs, and permits for municipal and PennDOT approvals. PE is required and a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code.
• Experience with testimony on land development at municipal approvals.

Responsibilities

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on traffic impact studies, intersection design, signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic/signal operations analysis.
• Obtain and analyze PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria and procedures.
• Oversee preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, permits and designs for projects.
• Represent the firm at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage large land development projects in all aspects of traffic engineering and planning.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic impact studies, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Overseeing the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Serve as a representative at municipal meetings, hearings, and PennDOT staff meetings.
