Job summary

J2 is seeking a Project Manager for the Transportation team to mentor engineers and guide design and technical documentation for public and private sector projects in the United States. You will lead multi-modal engineering solutions, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, and oversee proposals and budgets.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary design team, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices while advancing professional development and client engagement.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years in civil engineering, transportation design
  • PE license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Mentoring junior engineers
  • Familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Client and Project Management experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of engineering solutions for multi-modal transportation projects using design standards and regulations
  • Lead design and creation of technical drawings in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD/Carlson
  • Coordinate with clients and subconsultants across multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop project proposals and oversee project financials
  • Participate in transportation association events and training
  • Contribute to business development and marketing pursuits

As a Project Manager in the Transportation team, you will collaborate with team members on a diverse blend of projects with an emphasis on mentoring junior and senior engineers while guiding the development of design and technical documentation for public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Leading the development of engineering solutions for multi-modal transportation projects through the application of Local, State & Federal design standards and regulations
  • Leading design and creation of technical drawings in MicroStation OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD/Carlson design software
  • Communicating across a multidisciplinary design team including coordination with clients and subconsultants
  • Development of project proposal and oversight of project financials
  • Participating in transportation association networking events, classes, trainings, and seminars
  • Participation in business development activities including strategic planning, client outreach, and marketing pursuits
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) from an ABET accredited university
  • 5(+) years of experience in civil engineering, specifically transportation design
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for team collaboration and mentoring junior engineers
  • Familiarity with MicroStation or AutoCAD
  • Professional Engineering Licensure (PE)
  • Capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Client and Project Management
