MoDOT is seeking a Transportation Project Designer for the St. Louis District Office in Chesterfield, MO.

The role leads a team of designers and technicians in producing detailed transportation construction plans, specifications, and estimates, ensuring compliance with department standards under general supervision. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least six years in highway/transportation engineering.

Responsabilités

• Supervises preparation of construction plans and jobspecialprovisions for transportation projects, including evaluating project needs and resources and assigning tasks.
• Supervises design personnel including employment decisions, training, and performance management.
• Checks and reviews plans for accuracy and compliance with standards and accepted practices for bridge surveys and various plan stages.
• Provides design expertise to project core teams and participates in the project scoping process.
• Reviews consultant-prepared plans and makes recommendations on proposed developments and right-of-way activity.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor'sdegreein eengineering.
• Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.

Special Working Conditions:

• Job requires district-wide and/or statewide travel.
• Enrollment as an Engineer Intern in the State of Missouri is preferred.
• A postsecondary degree is the best measure to ensure candidates possess required knowledge in applied physics and mathematics, drafting, engineering processes and procedures, project management, industry ethical standards, and analyzing and modeling data.
