Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Nashville, TN is seeking Planning graduates to join our Transportation team in 2027, focusing on multimodal planning and corridor studies. This is an in-office role not remote.

You will contribute to transportation planning, GIS mapping, and stakeholder engagement, gaining hands-on experience with ArcGIS, Power BI, and graphic design tools while collaborating with senior professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Public Policy, Urban Design, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in transportation planning.
  • Interest in multimodal transportation, transit, land use, and community planning.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to synthesize technical information into clear, client-ready deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning graduates to join our Nashville, TN office focusing on Transportation in 2027! This is not a remote position.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Power BI and other data analysis tools.
  • Experience with urban and graphic design applications (SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator) Experience supporting public involvement, stakeholder engagement, or community outreach efforts.
  • Familiarity with travel demand modeling, transportation simulation, or transportation forecasting. Familiarity with urban design principles, placemaking, and complete streets concepts.
