Job summary

AECOM Transportation Planner in Phoenix, AZ will conduct research and data analysis to guide transportation decision-making and assess environmental impacts. Telecommuting up to 3 days per week is permitted, supporting a flexible work arrangement.

Responsibilities include preparing reports and maps, supporting GIS mapping, and collaborating with senior staff on multimodal planning and environmental studies to meet local, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1 year of experience as a Transportation Planner, Urban Planner, or related occupation.
• Experience in environmental and socioeconomic analysis, including Social Vulnerability Index Analysis and Multi-criteria analysis.
• Experience with GIS analysis and mapping.
• Experience with survey analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to guide transportation decision-making and assess environmental impacts.
• Interpret and evaluate findings to ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations.
• Analyze planning, land use, and transportation data for analyses, feasibility studies, and plans/reports.
• Gather and compile data to prepare reports and maps related to census data, land use, and environmental factors.
• Support GIS mapping efforts and analyze socioeconomic data, land use, environmental impacts, and travel behavior.
• Create visual representations using graphical tools.
• Assist in research and analyses focused on land use and multimodal planning.
• Facilitate stakeholder and public engagement initiatives for agency projects.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior staff or project managers.
• Provide training to junior staff and assist in quality control and recruitment.
