Job summary

Reynolds American in Winston-Salem seeks a Transportation Planner to coordinate freight loads, optimize routes, and ensure cost-effective, timely delivery. This role monitors cashflow and budgets to align with financial targets, collaborating across Wholesale, DCs, Manufacturing, and Logistics Providers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in transportation planning, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years in transportation planning or related fields.
  • Proficient in Excel; familiar with ERP/enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics 365).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize truckload shipments to maximize freight efficiency.

REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Planner in Winston-Salem

The Transportation Planner is responsible for planning, organizing, and optimising freight loads while ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery. This role also manages budget adherence and monitors transportation related cashflow to support financial targets.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Build and optimize truckload shipments to maximize freight efficiency while meeting customer service and inventory objectives.
  • Develop transportation plans and delivery schedules based on customer requirements, network capacity, and operational constraints.
  • Monitor in-transit shipments and proactively resolve service disruptions, delays, and exceptions.
  • Partner closely with Wholesale, Distribution Centers, Manufacturing, and Logistics Providers to ensure on-time delivery performance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance transportation efficiency, visibility, and network performance.
What are we looking for?
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 2+ years of experience in transportation planning, logistics, supply chain operations, distribution, manufacturing, or related disciplines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with reporting and data analysis tools and f familiar with enterprise software platforms used to run and manage a company's operations (ex. SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamic 365, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.

  • 401(k) plan that offers opportunity to save on pre- and post-tax basis up to 50 percent of eligible compensation.
