Job summary

BENTELER Group is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator in Shreveport, LA to manage inbound and outbound transportation for pipe materials and other items. You will coordinate with vetted carriers, tender shipments, and report daily on logistics performance.

Responsibilities include collaborating with IT on SAP-related issues, ensuring SOP compliance for shipping documents, and driving SOP improvements while supporting the Shipping Supervisor and Logistics Manager.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Transportation Management or equivalent, or combination of education and experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience with safety programs and incident accountability.
• Experience with SAP preferred; familiarity with TMS and MS Office required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multi-modal daily inbound and outbound transportation for bundle and threaded pipe and other materials.
• Schedule and tender inbound/outbound transportation with vetted Benteler providers.
• Provide daily leadership reports on shipments.
• Collaborate with IT to address SAP issues and coordinate with management for timely resolutions.
• Ensure SAP and Bill of Lading functions align with SOP.
• Drive continuous improvement by refining SOPs and automating manual tasks where possible.
• Assist Shipping Supervisor and Logistics Manager as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and cooperate with sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Complete required training as deemed by supervisor.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multi-modal daily inbound and outbound transportation activities for bundle and threaded pipe as well as other materials as requested.
• Schedule and tender inbound and outbound transportation based on approved vetted Benteler transportation providers.
• Provide daily report to leadership regarding inbound and outbound shipments.
• Collaborate with IT to address and resolve issues within SAP and work closely with management team to ensure timely problem resolution as needs arise.
• Ensure proper SAP and Bill of Lading functions in accordance with SOP.
• Drive continuous improvement through building and/or refining of SOPs and work to identify outdated, manual or redundant tasks and simplify or automate them.
• Assist the Shipping Supervisor and Logistics Manager as needed.
• Perform general housekeeping as needed in all working areas.
• Cooperate with sales department to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
• Maintain all working areas in safe and orderly way.
• Complete any and all required training as deemed necessary by supervisor.

Job Requirements

• BA/BS in Transportation Management or like discipline – or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with safety programs and incident accountability.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Must be familiar with TMS (Transportation Management System).
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
