Job summary

AECOM in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Transportation Planner to conduct research and data analysis for transportation decisions, assess environmental impacts, and support planning reports and maps. The role emphasizes GIS mapping, data analysis, and public engagement to inform agency projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1 year of experience as a Transportation Planner, Urban Planner, or related occupation.
• Experience in environmental and socioeconomic analysis.
• GIS analysis and mapping.
• Data analysis with MS Excel, SQL, SPSS, R, and Python.
• Graphic design with Adobe Creative Suites.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to guide transportation decision-making and assess environmental impacts.
• Interpret and evaluate findings to ensure compliance with regulations and client expectations.
• Analyze planning, land use, and transportation data to support technical analyses and plans.
• Gather technical data to prepare reports and maps related to census data, land use, and environmental factors.
• Support GIS mapping efforts and analyze travel behavior and transportation demand concepts.
• Create visual representations using a range of graphical tools.
• Facilitate stakeholder and public engagement initiatives for agency projects.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior staff or project managers.
• Provide training to junior staff and assist in quality control and recruitment efforts.
• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week.

At AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Planner in Phoenix, AZ:

Job Details:

• Conduct comprehensive research and data analysis to guide transportation decision-making and assess potential environmental impacts


• Interpret and evaluate findings from relevant studies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as client expectations


• Analyze diverse planning, land use, and transportation data, contributing to technical analyses, feasibility studies, and the development of comprehensive plans and transportation reports


• Gather and compile various technical and statistical data to assist in preparing reports and maps related to census data, land use, and environmental factors


• Support GIS mapping efforts and analyze socioeconomic data, land use, environmental impacts, travel behavior, and transportation demand concepts


• Create visual representations using a range of graphical tools


• Assist in research and technical analyses focused on land use and multimodal planning


• Facilitate stakeholder and public engagement initiatives for agency projects


• Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior staff or project managers


• Provide training to junior staff and assisted in quality control and recruitment efforts


• Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week

Candidates must have a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or a related field of study and1 year of experience as a Transportation Planner, Urban Planner, or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Environmental and socioeconomic analysis, including Social Vulnerability Index Analysis and Multi-criteria analysis


2. GIS analysis and mapping


3. Survey analysis


4. GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro and QGIS, ArcGIS Online Apps


5. Data analysis tools, including MS Excel, SQL, SPSS, R, and Python


6. Graphic design through Adobe Creative Suites
