Job summary

Brown Foodservice, Inc. in Louisa, Kentucky is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead daily driver operations, ensure safety, and deliver exceptional service to customers.

You will work closely with the Transportation Department and the VP of Operations to optimize routes and on-time deliveries. Requirements include a current Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one, experience supervising drivers, and knowledge of DOT regulations; proficiency with GPS, routing software, MS Excel and related

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; a BA/BS in business or logistics is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years supervising drivers is preferred.
• Regulatory knowledge of DOT/DMV guidelines is expected.
• GPS and routing optimization experience with handheld devices helpful.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook expected.
• Must pass pre-employment screens including background and drug tests.
• Current Class A CDL license or willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily work direction to drivers to ensure safe, efficient operations and meet customer requirements.
• Monitor daily activity and adjust load assignments and delivery instructions; communicate with team and customers.
• Create employee schedules to meet established goals.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and staying informed on regulatory issues.
• Coach and train employees to achieve performance expectations; conduct driver audits.
• Be available for emergencies, on-call rotations, nights, weekends, or holidays.
