Transportation Manager (East)
As a subsidiary of a growing Fortune 100 company, due to retirement we are hiring a Transportation manager which will oversee at least 4 depot locations. This is a fast-paced role that needs to be able to lead and mentor a team as well as be able to work with customers, make decisions and find creative solutions, as well as be able to cover a route if needed!
Location: This position will primarily work out of the Lincoln, Nebraska office but will visit other locations as needed as well as travel to the main office in Kearney as necessary.
Manages all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, unloading, fleet maintenance, customer/driver relationships, and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Operating Company (OpCo) compliance. Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance, managing Transportation Supervisors and monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is preferred.
