Job summary

RK Industries, LLC is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead dispatch operations in Aurora, CO. You will drive on-time deliveries, optimize routing and carrier performance, and guide a high-performing team ensuring seamless support for fabrication shops, warehouses, and jobsites.

You’ll manage carrier relationships, budgets, and KPI programs, while ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance and safe, efficient transportation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 7+ years in transportation, logistics, carrier management, or dispatch.
• 3+ years leading operational teams.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead dispatch and transportation teams to drive on-time delivery and coverage.
• Oversee routing, load planning, and resource allocation to maximize fleet utilization.
• Build and manage carrier and driver partnerships for reliable capacity and service levels.
• Ensure shipment readiness and real-time visibility; coordinate requirements and recovery plans.
• Proactively manage transportation risks, disruptions, and contingency strategies.

What You'll Lead

• Drive on-time delivery performance by leading dispatch and transportation teams, aligning priorities, improving accountability, and ensuring seamless operational coverage.
• Execute efficient routing, load planning, and resource allocation strategies that maximize fleet utilization and meet customer and project deadlines.
• Build and manage high-performing carrier and driver partnerships to ensure reliable capacity, strong service levels, and consistent operational execution.
• Ensure shipment readiness and real-time visibility by proactively coordinating logistics requirements, mitigating disruptions, and communicating recovery plans to key stakeholders.
• Reduce transportation costs and improve operational efficiency through route optimization, load consolidation, KPI management, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and operational continuity by managing transportation risks, resolving service failures, and implementing effective contingency and recovery strategies.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Transportation, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 7+ years of transportation, logistics, carrier management, or dispatch experience, including 3+ years leading operational teams.
• Proven expertise managing carrier relationships, transportation capacity, rates, contracts, service performance, and issue resolution.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, transportation safety, shipping documentation, cargo securement, and permitted loads.
• Experience overseeing transportation budgets, cost controls, vendor negotiations, KPIs, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Advanced leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Excel, ERP/TMS systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
