Job summary

SMX is seeking an SAP Transportation Management (TM) specialist to support Navy Plan-to-Stock design validation and to shape the to-be connection between Navy SAP TM and JTMS on SAP S/4HANA.

The role focuses on designing future-state transportation processes, validating requirements with DoD-grade security, and ensuring seamless integration with external JTMS systems. Strong facilitation and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or closely related field.
• Hands-on SAP TM design experience in SAP S/4HANA focusing on future-state design and validation.
• Ability to lead and facilitate design sessions mapping Navy transportation needs into SAP TM capabilities.
• Experience designing SAP TM integration with external systems (JTMS interface).
• Strong facilitation skills with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Minimum Secret DoD clearance required.

Job description

SMX is seeking a strong SAP Transportation Management (TM) experience on S/4HANA to support future-state design validation sessions for the Navy’s Plan-to-Stock team. This person must be able to shape the to-be design and the future state connection between Navy SAP TM and JTMS.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and actively participate in future-state design validation sessions with Navy P2S stakeholders, functional leads, system integrator personnel, logistics SMEs, technical teams, and related JTMS stakeholders.
• Review current-state transportation and stock-replenishment processes, identify operational pain points and gaps, and translate validated business needs into practical SAP S/4HANA TM future-state capabilities.
• Shape the end-to-end to-be design for transportation processes supporting Plan-to-Stock activities, from transportation demand through planning, execution, tracking/visibility, freight settlement, and downstream financial or inventory impacts.
• Define how SAP S/4HANA TM should support transportation requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, transportation management, information systems, business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on SAP TM design experience in SAP S/4 HANA, focused on future-state process design and solution validation
• Ability to lead and facilitate design sessions that map Navy transportation needs into SAP TM capabilities
• Experience designing how SAP TM will work with external transportation systems (JTMS interface focus)
• Strong facilitation skills with business and technical stakeholders
• Minimum Secret DoD clearance required

Desired Skills & Experience

• Prior DoD or federal supply chain / logistics experience
• SAP EWM exposure is a plus

The proposed salary for this position is:: $112,600 USD - $187,600 USD
