Job summary

Civil Science offers a Summer 2027 Transportation Intern role in Utah, where you will support projects that improve roads, infrastructure, and communities. Work alongside engineers, surveyors, designers, inspectors, and other professionals, gaining exposure to transportation, municipal, and development projects across Utah.

You’ll engage in planning, design, surveying, and CAD-related tasks, while learning Civil Science’s technical standards, QC procedures, and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in civil/construct engineering or related program.
• Interest in transportation, roadway design, construction, surveying, or public infrastructure.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and design of transportation, municipal, and development projects.
• Support roadway design, land surveying, construction inspection, and CAD-related tasks.
• Prepare engineering drawings, plans, exhibits, calculations, and documentation.
• Collect, organize, and review field and design data.
• Participate in site visits to understand project execution.
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, inspectors, and project managers.
• Learn and apply Civil Science’s standards, QC procedures, and safety practices.
• Take on meaningful responsibilities based on experience and project needs.
