Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking committed engineering and construction management students for internships across the United States. The program offers exposure to challenging projects and participation in activities essential to building our projects, aimed at developing future leaders who go beyond the expected.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience on site and in office environments, with mentorship and training to enhance professional growth.

Qualifications

Must be a team player ready to take on challenges.
Currently enrolled in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
Eager to learn, curious, and willing to get hands dirty.
Prefer those pursuing a construction career for a builder.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Assist with project record keeping, shop drawings, and cost control records.
Assist with report preparation, safety inspections, submittal logging and processing.
Assist with surveying, testing, sample collection, drawing correction and filing.
Assist with time keeping and cost control, inventory control, schedule checking, subcontractor monitoring.
Attend bid openings, conferences, etc.; take notes and complete forms.
Observe and report results of meetings and conduct site tours for visitors.
Prepare quantity take-offs, call vendors and subcontractors for proposals.
Work as a manual laborer, helper, clerk or technician assistant, etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Sundt is looking for committed engineering (Civil, Structural, and Mechanical) and construction management students within accredited Universities/colleges. The internship will provide you with unique experiences on challenging projects throughout the US while providing you the opportunity to participate in several of the activities it takes to successfully build our projects. Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with project record keeping, preparing shop drawings, and assisting with cost control records.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
Will interact with people frequently during a shift/work day
Will lift, push or pull objects on an occasional basis
Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/work day.
