Job summary

Bowman Consulting is seeking a Transportation Engineer I to join our team across Boston, Taunton, Westfield, and Lincoln locations. This entry-level role supports transportation engineering and planning tasks, data collection, and multi-disciplinary collaboration.

You will prepare plans, analyses, and reports, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to grant applications while growing within a supportive, high-commitment environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• Academic or internship experience in transportation discipline preferred.
• Entry level position; no prior experience required.
• FE/EIT exam preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, or other engineering design software.
• Familiarity with DOT permitting and ADA standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, and apply standard transportation engineering techniques on moderately complex projects.
• Work closely with senior staff and assist with transportation engineering and planning work.
• Prepare maps and graphics for public and client meetings; perform data analysis and field data collection.
• Prepare engineering plans and reports; assist in grant applications and funding related tasks.
• Participate in construction-related assignments and QA/QC review.
• Develop and maintain organized project files and collaborate with internal teams.
