Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD seeks an Highway Transportation EIT/Coordinator to join a team of project engineers focused on roadway design.

You will contribute to detailed design, alignment and drainage, and prepare plans and estimates for urban and rural projects. Preferred candidates hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and are proficient with MicroStation and AutoCAD, with experience in Bentley/OpenRoads or Civil3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field is required.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred for progression.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD; familiarity with road design software (Bentley/OpenRoads, Civil 3D) is desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project engineers on detailed urban and rural roadway design.
• Own alignment, profile, geometrics, drainage and development of plans and estimates.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports, specifications and calculations.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

In the role of Highway Transportation EIT/Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

• Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
• Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans and construction estimates
• Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications and calculations
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
• Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
• Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
