Child Care Resources Inc is seeking a dedicated Transportation Driver to safely move children aged 6 weeks to 11 years to and from the center in St. Johnsbury, VT.

This part‑time role emphasizes punctual, secure transportation and compassionate interaction with children, families and staff. Responsibilities include logging pickups/drop-offs, maintaining the vehicle, ensuring proper child restraints, and adhering to all safety and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 25 years or older with a clean driving record.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and fingerprint checks.
• CPR & First Aid Certification and VT Car Seat/Transportation Training.
• Mandated Reporter training and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience in childcare or transporting children preferred; random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drop-off and pick-up times with families and staff.
• Maintain an updated log of pickups and drop-offs.
• Deliver newsletters, accident reports, and other papers to caregivers.
• Keep the van clean, fueled, and supplied by the company.
• Ensure child supervision and safety during loading and unloading.
• Communicate delays or closings to parents.
• Ensure staffing meets licensing regulations at all times.
• Verify proper child restraints are used and secured.
• Report vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow local, state, and federal transportation and childcare regulations.

About This Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting childrenages 6 weeks - 11 years of age to and from the Child Care Center, as well as occasional field trips or special activities. This part time role supports the daily operations of the center by ensuring reliable, punctual and secure transportation services while maintaining a caring and professional demeaner with children, families and staff. Must be 25 years or older.

What You'll Do

• Communicate drop off and pick up times and locations with families and staff.
• Create and keep updated log of pick up and drop off times
• Deliver paperwork to care givers provided by child care (newsletters, accident reports, etc.)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly fueled van that is supplied by ABC & LOL LLC.
• Ensure proper child supervision and adherence to safety procedures during loading and unloading.
• Communicate any delays or closing with parents via transportation phone
• Ensure proper staffing to keep vehicle in licensing regulations at all times
• Ensure all children have appropriate child restraint seats and secured properly
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
• Follow all local, state and federal transportation laws and childcare transportation regulations.

Requirements

Must be 25 years or older and have a clean driving record, the ability to pass a background and fingerprint check, and willing to complete required trainings.

Valid Driver's License

Hold current CPR & First Aid Certification

Vt Car seat and Transportation Training

Mandated Reporter training

HIPPA regulations

Experience driving children or working in a childcare setting is preferred.
