Job summary

Transportation Engineer I – Design Track with MDOT SHA to contribute to roadway design and traffic analysis. Positions available in Baltimore City, Hanover, or SHA District Offices statewide. Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering required; no prior experience required.

Duties include evaluating design criteria, attending public meetings, and performing constructability reviews. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering and/or transportation systems engineering from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Meeting project goals.
• Developing alternatives.
• Attending public meetings.
• Evaluating design criteria against project constraints.
• Performing constructability reviews.
• Reviewing and designing roadway plans.
• Performing construction inspection for proposed roadway improvement projects.
• Providing traffic/travel demand information.
• Conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation engineering and/or transportation systems engineering
