Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities, LLC in Elgin, IL is seeking a Transportation Coordinator (Driver) for a full-time, Sunday-Thursday shift 8:30am-4:30pm. You will deliver a structured, resident-focused transportation program within the community, extending beyond driving to include coordination, scheduling, and resident communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21+ with at least 3 years of licensed driving experience.
• Valid state Driver’s License (Class E) and clean MVR.
• Ability to operate passenger vehicles, buses, and mobility lift systems to assist residents.
• Experience with older adults, transportation, or coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services during scheduled hours, including, but not limited to, coverage of designated medical transportation days (Tuesday and Thursday).
• Safely operate community vehicles to provide medical, recreational, and personal transportation to
• Enter and manage transportation requests in our digital transportation management system, ensuring schedules are accurate and aligned with community transportation guidelines and availability.
• Maintain vehicle readiness by completing routine inspections and ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Support the Entertainment & Programming team with scheduled outings and events, including planning, logistics, resident participation, and adherence to safety protocols and return schedules.
• During non-driving hours, provide community support as needed, including programming, interdepartmental support, and other operational tasks, maintaining consistent productivity throughout scheduled work hours.
• Enter and manage transportation requests in our digital transportation management system, ensuring schedules are accurate and aligned with community transportation guidelines and availability.

The Transportation Coordinator (Driver) plays a critical role in delivering a structured, reliable, and resident-focused transportation program within the community. Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you will need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving experience.
• Must have a valid state Driver’s License (Class E in Missouri) and Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to safely operate passenger vehicles, buses, and mobility lift systems while assisting residents with mobility needs.
• Previous experience with older adults, transportation, or coordination preferred.
