CDR Maguire Inc. is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for a PA project in Montgomery County. The role involves overseeing construction inspections, ensuring adherence to plans, specs, and safety protocols, and preparing daily reports for a four-leg intersection reconstruction.

The TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors, liaise with contractors and engineers, and manage documentation, quantities, and payments as part of project oversight.

Qualifications

• Requires BS Civil Engineering or equivalent and NICET Level 2+ in Transportation/Highway Construction.
• Multiple certifications in bituminous field, concrete field tech, and PennDOT CDS.
• OSHA 10-Hour and ECMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with contractors, consultants, engineers and job superintendents on plans, specs, materials and methods.
• Prepare daily progress reports and maintain progress schedules.
• Supervise inspectors and review shop drawings and quotations for variations.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents and health and safety plans.
• Coordinate with Owner and staff to maintain quality and safety across the project.

Job description

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for the reconstruction of Sr 4004 and realignment of Eagleville Road and Crawford Road to form a four leg intersection project in Montgomery County for an immediate opening.

The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.
• Ensure compliance with the contractor's health and safety plan.
• Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.
• Check contractor's layout and verify accuracy.
• Prepare and submit daily reports of work performed in accordance with CDR Maguire's and Owner's requirements.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Follow and convey instructions.
• Utilize computers and common office equipment.
• Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, sit, and stand.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Wear required personal protective gear/equipment.
• React to hazardous warnings and signals.
• Infrequently perform manual labor.
• Infrequently work in adverse weather conditions.
• Limited exposure to chemicals.

OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Travel as required and as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor.
• Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.
• Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.

High school diploma, GED, or post secondary education and can read, write, and communicate in English and do basic math computations for length, area, and volume.

Certifications required or combination thereof

• BS Civil Engineering NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
• NECEPT Bituminous field certification
• ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
• PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
• ECMS experience
• OSHA 10-Hour certification
