Job summary

CDR Maguire is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for the 2026 season in PennDOT District 2. The role involves inspecting contractor activities, maintaining daily reports, and ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.

Candidates with a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and transportation construction experience are preferred; engineers and new grads are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; reading, writing and math skills needed.
  • Two years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction experience preferred; new grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Prepare daily field reports and progress documentation.
  • Check materials, layouts, and dimensional tolerances; review shop drawings and Contractor quotations.
  • Maintain safety compliance with the contractor’s safety plan and project requirements.
  • Travel within PennDOT District 2 as needed; communicate findings clearly to project team.
