Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking an Engineer-In-Training 1 for our Transportation Construction Services Department in Salt Lake City, UT. This onsite role involves design and plan development for roadway projects, field inspections, and construction record management.

Applicants should have a four-year civil engineering degree, field experience preferred, and strong reading of plans/specs, along with solid communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in civil engineering.
• Experience in engineering or construction preferred.
• Experience with Utah DOT plans and procedures preferred.
• Ability to read plans and specs.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports and coordinate progress meetings with the contractor and owner, manage the shop drawing review process, and certify Contractor payrolls.
• Review Contractors subcontractor agreements (MBE/WBE/DBE), draft and manage sub consultant agreements.
• Monitor internal project budgets.
• Ensure Stanley staff compliance with the Group Safety manual.
• Review and submit monthly billings to the Client, analyze and negotiate change orders.
• Resolve contractor questions and drawing clarifications.
• Maintain active client communications and assist the Business Development Manager or others with marketing, interviews, and proposal preparation.
