Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Engineering Specialist to review, develop, and deliver the department's construction program. This role includes field reviews, data gathering, plan/spec cost estimates, and coordinating with stakeholders.

The position serves as the district's primary contact for construction projects, coordinating staff and project needs, and representing the District Administrator in absence of leadership.

Qualifications

  • KSAs include civil engineering principles for highway projects.
  • Knowledge of ADOT design standards, specs, and AASHTO guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and manage project coordination.
  • Familiarity with reading highway plans and technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Review and coordinate construction plans and specifications.
  • Attend project field reviews and meetings; prepare reports.
  • Support winter weather emergencies and incident communications.
  • Track lifecycle progress of district construction projects and coordinate staff.
