Job summary

Penske Logistics in Joliet, IL is seeking a detail-oriented office specialist to support daily operations, including pallet tracking, driver log audits, and DOT file maintenance. The role liaises with internal customers and manages returns from the private fleet.

You will handle a range of office duties, payroll support, billing, and reporting while coordinating with safety and operations teams. The position offers a 3 AM to 11:30 AM schedule and a starting pay of $23.00 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years of general office experience required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, and reporting.
• Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting; maintain files and assist customer service requests.
• Maintain route books and assist with driver coverage and overflow freight.
• Coordinate with Safety team as required.
• Prioritize workload and adapt to position requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality in all duties.
• Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Various office and administrative duties, which may include handling accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, maintaining database and miscellaneous reporting
• Audit of logs and trip reports and other DOT reporting, maintain of files, customer service interaction, resolution of driver equipment requests and pallet tracking.
• Maintenance and distribution of route books, daily interface with drivers, assist with driver coverage of vacation and overflow freight
• Involve Safety team as required by location
• Prioritize workload and have flexibility to adjust based on position requirements
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
• Other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• 2 years of general office experience required
• 1 year of customer service experience required
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
• AS400 experience preferred
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
