Job summary

Egis, in collaboration with Lochner, is seeking an intern to join our transportation engineering team in the United States. You will work on design projects across Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, helping create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop detailed 3D roadway models under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 0–4 years of relevant transportation engineering experience.
• Familiarity with OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT standards and procedures preferred.
• Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop detailed 3D roadway models.
• Perform engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare design drawings, reports, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Provide construction phase support by reviewing submittals and responding to contractor questions.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing roadways and drainage systems.
• Maintain organized project documentation.
