Job summary

V3 Companies is seeking a Transportation Civil Designer in Woodridge, IL or Chicago, IL to contribute to impactful roadway projects. You will design and document civil infrastructure, perform estimates, and develop construction specifications while coordinating with a broad team of designers, engineers, and scientists.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, 0–4 years of related experience, OpenRoads Designer proficiency, and EIT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• 0-4 years of related experience.
• OpenRoads Designer proficiency.
• EIT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare engineering drawings using Bentley’s OpenRoads Designer for roadway and infrastructure projects.
• Perform quantity and cost estimate calculations.
• Prepare construction specifications.
• Conduct preliminary engineering tasks such as traffic studies and intersection design studies.
• Handle client relations as needed.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines on multi-faceted projects.

Salary Range: $77,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

V3 Companies, a multidisciplinary AEC firm, is seeking a Transportation Civil Designer in either our Woodridge, IL or Chicago, IL office, where you will contribute to career-defining projects that reimagine our built and natural world.

You’ll change the shape of your community by connecting people and designing roads, creating impact that lasts. And, as part of our Transportation Planning & Design team, you will collaborate with 450+ designers, engineers, and scientists to make meaningful, effective change across North America.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Design and prepare engineering drawings using Bentley’s OpenRoads Designer for roadway and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Perform quantity and cost estimate calculations.
• Prepare construction specifications.
• Perform preliminary engineering tasks such as traffic studies, intersection design studies, geometric studies and project report development.
• Handle client relations as needed.
• Work closely with other V3 disciplines on multi-faceted projects.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-4 years of related experience on projects for clients such as IDOT, Illinois Tollway, Chicago DOT, County DOT’s and local municipalities.
• OpenRoads Designer proficiency.
• EIT certification.
