The Austin Centers for Exceptional Students is a multifaceted special education program, designed specifically for students with emotional disabilities, autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities or other educational challenges. Austin Centers currently serves over a thousand students per year from more than 100 school districts and charter schools on all our campuses. We are seeking a motivated and growth-oriented employee to join our team at ACES Integrated in a dynamic, multi-faceted role. This position serves as a Transportation Coordinator, overseeing approximately 10 routes and supporting around 100 students within Dysart district boundaries. In addition, the role includes serving as a floating interventionist, providing classroom support for up to 10 classrooms across 2 sites. This individual will work closely with the campus principal and educational team, playing a key role in supporting student success and contributing to the continued development of new programming at ACES Integrated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist staff in understanding principles of reinforcement, teaching new and replacement behaviors and identifying antecedents.
  • Work with individual teachers, groups of teachers and/or the entire staff on issues such as crisis intervention, learning and collaboration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions.
  • Develop a repertoire of assessment strategies consistent with instructional goals, teaching methods, and individual student needs to more accurately assess student behavior skills and understandings
  • Provide recognition of a variety of student accomplishments and positive behaviors.
  • Work cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, strategies, and modeling of instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior support in their classrooms.
  • Directly support behavioral interventions.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Support with de-escalating student behaviors and reintegration back into the classroom.
  • Coordinate with campus administrators to develop best practices for behavior documentation.
  • Complete other duties as necessary for the campus and as directed by the Principal.
TRANSPORTATION DUTIES
  • All daily operation of the transportation program including routing and staffing.
  • Assures all Ready to Roll staff follow the staff code of conduct, policies and procedures.
  • Consistently monitor the cleanliness of all ACES transportation vehicles.
  • Oversee maintenance schedule, ensuring vans get regular oil changes, fluids and tire pressure checks, washing, detailing etc.
  • Monitors the paperwork for each vehicle to ensure that all vehicles have available copies of current registration, insurance, or other pertinent documentation.
  • Effectively communicates any student concerns to parents, ACES staff and larger concerns to ACES administration.
  • Makes safety the highest priority, ensuring that all vehicles are safe to drive, have a first aid kit, tire kit, working safety belts, rollover warning signs. etc.
  • Completes monthly billing.
  • Other functions may be assigned as needed by Transportation Director or COO.

Pay Range

$46,000 - $51,000 USD
