Job summary

CILE Senior Living is seeking a Transportation Associate to provide safe, reliable transport for residents. You will assist residents with needs during trips, maintain vehicles, and support a positive, secure environment in daily operations.

Ideal candidates have prior bus driving experience with wheelchair lift, experience with seniors, and a valid NJ driver's license. Training and teamwork are emphasized to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Strong reading/writing skills in English; clear hearing.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe transportation for residents in a professional manner.
• Assist residents with needs during transportation (loading, unloading, doors, etc.).
• Perform maintenance and cleaning of designated vehicles as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and follow safety standards.
• Participate in required trainings and staff meetings.

POSITION: Transportation Associate

REPORTS TO: Life Enrichment Director

FLSA: Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Driver is responsible for providing transportation services to CILE Senior Living residents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
• Assists residents with any special needs during transportation, e.g., carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents in and out of vehicles, etc.
• Provides miscellaneous pickup and delivery services as needed.
• Responsible for maintenance and appearance of designated vehicles.
• Coordinates routine preventive maintenance as directed.
• Maintains all tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information.
• Communicates any observed or suspected resident change in condition to a supervisor immediately.
• Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments. Supports a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
• Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, annual training through designated Learning Management System (LMS).
• Attend all required all staff meetings.
• Other duties as assigned, and which relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Previous experience driving a bus with wheelchair lift.
• Experience working with seniors.
• Valid and applicable state drivers' license and no major driving violations for the past three (3) years. First aid and CPR certification may be required.
• Must have strong understanding of the English language sufficient to read and write.
• Must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
• Must be able to hear with or without hearing aid devices to ensure safety while transporting in a vehicle.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Walk/Stand - must be able to continuously walk and stand.
• Environment Condition - must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
• Sit - sit infrequently.
• Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11-50 pounds, occasionally 51-100 pounds.
• Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11-50 pounds, occasionally 51-100 pounds.
• Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11-50 pounds, occasionally 51-100 pounds.
• Climb - must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
• Bend - must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips, and spine on a frequent basis; may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Squat - must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
• Twist or rotate - must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
• Reach- must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
