Job summary

Elgen Staffing is seeking an Associate Attorney with Transportation experience in New York. You will manage your own caseload, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and coordinating with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop litigation strategies.

This hybrid role requires 3-5 years of experience in Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability, with strong research, writing, and advocacy skills to support courtroom proceedings.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience handling Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability defense.
• Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions, perform legal research and respond to discovery.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Strong academic record.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests from start to finish.
• Manage your own caseload with attention to deadlines and details.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing courtroom experience.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support case strategy with partners and senior attorneys.

Compensation: 130000.-185000. / Annually

Our client, a leading litigation law firm with offices throughout the Northeast, has an immediate need for an Associate Attorney with Transportation experience, to join our winning team in New York.

Our candidate of choice will be responsible for managing your own caseload from start to finish-drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, all while keeping a keen eye on details and deadlines. This is a hybrid role! Annual billable hour requirement: 2000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS:

• Work closely with clients, experts, and fellow attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
• At least 3-5 years of experience handling the defense of Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability.
• Ability to draft and argue dispositive motions, perform legal research and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials, providing you with valuable courtroom experience.
• Conduct thorough legal research, preparing memoranda to support case strategy, and working alongside partners and senior attorneys to ensure seamless case management.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Strong academic record.
• Proficiency in drafting and arguing dispositive motions, along with the ability to perform legal research and respond to discovery requests, is crucial.
• You will assist in trials and hearings, requiring strong advocacy skills.
• Taking and defending fact witness and expert depositions making attention to detail and effective communication key attributes for success in this position.
• Areas of focus will include Transportation, Construction Litigation, and Tort Liability.
