Overview

NORTHERN HASEROT The Midwest's Leading Independent Food-Service Distributor since 1878 is adding to their Transportation team!

The Transportation Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the transportation department to ensure efficient, timely, and compliant delivery operations.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities include:

Truck Check-In

• Inspect each returning truck for Cleanliness, strip curtain placement and any visible damages, both interior and exterior
• Verify the status of product returning properly document

Driver Compliance

• Ensure drivers have properly used Samsara and ExtenData systems
• Ensure that all drivers are in full uniform upon return to the facility

Vehicle Inspection

• Inspect cab interiors as well as exterior for damages
• Confirm that back doors are closed when parked and box lights are turned off

Fuel Island & Dock Monitoring

• Monitor fuel island, ensuring that entry pad door is closed during inclement weather
• Monitor the dock doors 10 and 11 for cleanliness and organization

Inventory & Supplies

• Responsible for ordering DEF, oil, windshield washer fluid, funnels, automatic transmission fluid and any other necessary supplies

Routing

• Fill in as backup router when primary router is unavailable (vacation, sick, personal time)

Breakdown Management

• After 2:00 PM, responsibilities will include handling breakdowns, arranging tows, coordinating load swaps between vehicles as well as addressing all driver-related issues

Device & Equipment Accountability

• Ensure that all driver devices are accounted for on cradles and are on charging properly
• All wheelers are accounted for and returned to the proper location
