Position Description
Own and develop relationships with supply chain carriers, negotiate contracts, and plan country delivery strategies. Oversee daily operations and processes, maintaining relationships with domestic and international warehouses to ensure proper handling and distribution of goods based on best practices. Lead initiatives in category management, sourcing, supplier management, and resource development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage contract negotiations, relationship management, and partner development.
- Manage procurement processes for transportation and warehouse coordination; support new service rollouts with 3PL stakeholders.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure high customer service levels and cost efficiency.
- Maintain relationships with domestic and international 3PL providers to ensure proper handling and distribution of goods.
- Manage complexities of global supply chains, conduct inventory and warehousing problem solving, and define root causes for resolutions.
- Collaborate with demand planning and service providers to optimize inventory turnover and minimize delivery timelines.
- Oversee order fulfillment, monitor 3PL performance, and establish agreements for warehousing and distribution aligned with stakeholder requirements.
- Drive improvements in warehousing and distribution processes, costs, and logistics engagements.
- Develop sourcing strategies, lead cross-functional teams, and negotiate sustainable contracts with suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships to optimize performance and add value.
- Participate in commercial development and procurement teams to implement best practices for commercial excellence.
- Develop and upgrade contract templates and establish structured contract management disciplines.
- Formulate strategies for innovative services, performance improvements, and capacity growth.
- Assess supply base to meet current and future business needs.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with high-performing carriers, including performance evaluations.
- Conduct strategic analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage daily purchasing activities and troubleshoot inbound/outbound issues.
- Maintain supplier databases, purchase records, and execute purchase orders efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with inventory process controls and manage warehouse activities in coordination with inventory control.
- Drive continuous improvement in materials flow, inventory accuracy, and supply chain service metrics.
- Create and review reporting metrics to identify service improvement opportunities.
- Conduct training sessions on 3PL inventory and shipping processes.
- Review forecasts and inventory levels daily, coordinate with order management and 3PL providers.
- Maintain warehousing and distribution requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual and workflow compliance with 3PL partners through KPI analysis and business reviews.
- Maintain 3PL costs within budget and drive improvements in cost, performance, and quality.
- Resolve 3PL issues related to capacity, performance, and complaints.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Logistics or related field, with at least 15 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics, including 5 years in warehouse operations and 2 years in leadership roles supervising 3+ people.
- Deep knowledge of procurement and commercial strategies.
- Extensive experience in business development, partner management, procurement, sales, or marketing.
- Financial acumen with ability to develop should-cost models and understand P&L statements.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory, supply chain, and warehousing processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software like SAP/Ariba.
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing stairs, ladders, and working in construction sites. Regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds. Frequent travel and on-site work required.
