Job summary

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, is seeking a Transportation Analyst to improve efficiency across shipments, coordinate with agencies, departments, and customers, and analyze transportation data for cost-saving opportunities. You will help implement new systems, negotiate with vendors, and ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries while supporting internal teams and maintaining data integrity.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Please note: MS Excel skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation projects within the Transportation team.
• Interpret data and identify data gaps to solve problems.
• Coordinate transportation operations across departments and external resources.
• Negotiate with vendors, carriers, and contractors on price and terms.
• Assist with cost-saving opportunities such as reducing detention and demurrage.
• Document business requirements, map processes, test and implement new systems.
• Track customer orders and resolve transportation-related issues as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Objective

The Transportation Analyst is an established performer who is responsible for communication between agencies, departments, and customers, as well as analysis to assist with cost‑saving measures, problem‑solving, and improving departmental operations. This role will be responsible for analyzing transportation data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance overall transportation efficiency.

Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position

• Work on projects and assignments as part of the larger Transportation team.
• Draw from prior experience, interpret facts, and identify incomplete data/anomalies to solve problems.
• Responsible for facilitating and/or coordinating transportation operations.
• Coordinate across multiple internal departments and external resources to deliver shipments in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
• Perform accurate analyses, conduct research, and draw meaningful conclusions on various transportation‑related tasks.
• Negotiate on price and other matters with vendors, carriers, and contractors.
• Assist with cost‑saving opportunities such as minimizing unnecessary costs (detention, demurrage).
• Coordinate cross‑functional activities related to new system implementations, including business requirements documentation, process mapping, testing, issue resolution, stakeholder communication, and post‑implementation support.
• May be responsible for tracking customer orders upon request, assisting with customer‑related problems, and various other transportation matters as defined by the designated department.
• Perform other duties as needed

Required Experience And Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 2‑4 years’ relevant experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite products.
