Custom Building Products, LLC, a Quikrete company, seeks a Transportation Manager to lead plant logistics at the Logan Township facility. You will oversee all transport operations, manage a team of drivers, and interface with corporate logistics initiatives to optimize service and costs.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Production, Shipping, Receiving and Purchasing to ensure timely goods flow, identify savings, and standardize SOPs across plants.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in operations management, logistics or related field.
• Six to eight years of logistics and inventory management experience, with at least five years in a managerial role.
• Strong background in distribution management across multiple channels.
• Experience with budgeting, cost management and planning.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

We are looking for a Transportation Manager at our Logan Township, NJ facility. This is an opportunity to make an impact in a broad and visible role at an industry leader - you will lead strong growth in your areas of responsibility. The position is the key plant representative for the plant logistics and liaison with corporate logistics initiatives. Position will oversee all plant-related logistics staff, including warehouse personnel.

Responsibilities

About the Role

You will report to the Plant Manager and have a dotted-line relationship with corporate logistics leadership. The teams you'll oversee include and approximately 12 fleet drivers.

In addition to the routine responsibilities, this role will require you to communicate effectively with the Production, Shipping, Receiving and Purchasing Departments, to ensure product is ordered or produced in time to service all outbound shipments. You will improve customer service levels where appropriate, reduce overall transportation and distribution cost structures, and build key relationships with plant and corporate management teams. In addition, you'll work with sister plants to identify and implement best practices, standardize SOPs and support regional teams.

About You

• Strong background in fleet management across different customer channels and/or different distribution models.
• Transportation exposure to truckload, vans, LTL and small package shipping.
• Budgeting accounting, cost management and planning skill sets.
• Performance improvement program experience, team building and solid interpersonal abilities.
• Pricing, negotiation and contract experience.
• Team-leadership, planning and organizational skills.
• Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Proven commitment to performance metrlcs.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent in operations management, logistics or other related fields.
• Six to eight years of experience in logistics and inventory management, with at least five years in a managerial capacity.
• A strong background in distribution management across different customer channels and/or different distribution models.
• Transportation exposure to truckloads, LTL and small package shipping.
• Proven skills in preparing and managing a budget.
• Pricing, negotiation and contract experience is a plus.
• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to build accountable teams and help your direct reports develop professionally.
• A hands-on approach to managing and leading.
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
