Job summary

Northwell Health's Transplant Institute seeks a Transplant Psychiatrist to join the growing Transplant Psychiatry team at NSUH. The role includes inpatient consultations, donor evaluations, and collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and social workers to support transplant patients pre- and post‑transplant.

Board certified in Psychiatry with advanced transplant psychiatry training is preferred; NY licensure is required.

Qualifications

• Board certification in Psychiatry; advanced training in transplant psychiatry preferred.
• New York State medical licensure required or eligible.
• Minimum of 2 years attending‑level experience in C‑L Psychiatry or Addiction Psychiatry, preferably with transplant focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient psychiatric consultations and follow‑up visits for transplant candidates and donors.
• Perform donor evaluations for living donors and support multidisciplinary care.
• Collaborate with medicine, surgery, nursing, social work, and other professionals.
• Evaluate and treat pre‑ and post‑transplant patients with behavioral health needs related to medical conditions.
