Job summary

Mass General Brigham invites a full-time transplant nephrologist to join its high-volume kidney transplant program spanning Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

You will provide comprehensive pre- and post-transplant care in inpatient and outpatient settings, and participate in multidisciplinary care with teams across medicine and surgery. Harvard Medical School appointment will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Nephrology and eligible for Massachusetts medical licensure.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Nephrology fellowship.
• Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and collegial teamwork.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary transplant program across two hospitals.

Transplant Nephrologist

The Department of Medicine is seeking a full-time board-certified Transplant Nephrologist to join our collaborative and high-volume kidney transplant program across Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Our combined program performed over 300 kidney transplants in 2025, offering a dynamic and diverse clinical environment with exposure to complex transplant patients and cutting-edge care delivery.

The selected candidate will provide comprehensive pre- and post-kidney transplant care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including the transplant consult service, outpatient transplant clinics, and outreach clinics throughout New England. The role includes participation in multidisciplinary care alongside transplant surgery, infectious diseases, pathology, and immunology teams.

The program offers unique opportunities to participate in innovative clinical initiatives, including kidney xenotransplantation, transplant tolerance protocols, and combined bone marrow–kidney transplantation for patients with hematologic malignancies, in addition to established programs in paired kidney exchange, desensitization for highly sensitized candidates, and advanced immunologic management.

The Transplant Nephrologist will play a central role in education, supervising and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students.
