Job summary

Healey Brothers Automotive is seeking a Transmission Technician to join our growing team in New York. The right candidate will have a strong service technician background focused on transmissions, including replacement and rebuild work as needed.

Responsibilities include diagnosing repairs on repair orders, test-driving vehicles, using diagnostic tools, and communicating with the Service Advisor. Ford dealership experience is preferred and ASE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of service technician experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; ASE and Ford certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs on the specified repair orders with efficiency according to dealership standards.
  • Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to identify needed repairs.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine and transmission.
  • Communicate with Service Advisor about additional services and estimated repair times.
  • Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification preferred
  • Ford Certification preferred
Previous Experience At a Ford Dealership Is Preferred
  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine and Transmission Repair
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
