Qualifications

Transmission Performance & Budget Analyst

Full-Time

Summary:

This position serves as a business-performance resource to Transmission leadership by cataloging program reports and dashboards, identifying key operational and financial data inputs, developing benchmarks and KPIs, evaluating alternatives and trade-offs, and improving decision-support reporting. The role collaborates across business functions to improve operational effectiveness, affordability, reliability, and rate competitiveness.

Total Rewards

A typical starting range for this position is $105,000 - $144,000 + annually. We offer market competitive base pay and adjust our offer accordingly based upon the value of the candidate’s knowledge, skills and experience. Responsibilities
  • Performance Analytics and Cost Management - Expense-program transparency, cost-driver analysis, cost levers, cost controls, benchmarking, alternatives analysis, and trade-off development.
  • Budget Analysis -Budget development support, forecasting, variance analysis, program-cost reporting, spend trend analysis, and financial decision support for Transmission leadership.
  • Reporting, KPI Development, and Process Improvement -KPI frameworks, executive dashboards, proxy indicators, process mapping, IT interfaces, business-system integration, and AI-enabled reporting.
Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in either finance, accounting, economics, business administration, engineering, statistics, mathematics, data analytics, information systems, decision sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience performing budget analysis, cost analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, business intelligence, operational analytics, performance management or related analytical work.
  • A combination of education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Utility experience preferred.
  • Experience with transmission operations, vegetation management, asset management, construction management, field services, or business performance management preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel modeling, Maximo, Power Query, SQL, Python, data visualization, or business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: KPI development, benchmarking methodologies, productivity measurement, operational performance management, cost-control frameworks, and scorecard development.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: Dashboard development, data analysis and reporting, process mapping, business intelligence systems, IT interfaces, business-system integration, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: Strategic thinking, problem-solving, alternatives analysis, trade-off development, executive communication, cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement and utility business acumen.
