XKIG in Washington, NC is seeking a Transmission General Foreman to lead day and night crews for high-voltage line work in the Duke Energy network. This on-site, full-time role requires strong leadership, safety discipline, and coordination with Duke Energy.

You will oversee assignments, ensure OSHA compliance, verify timesheets, arrange lodging, and mentor crews while adapting to weather and travel as needed.

Description

Position Purpose

The role of the General Foreman of the River City n is to establish and maintain a healthy, working relationship between River City while remaining compliant with both River City guidelines.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

Oversee project assignments for both day and night crews.

Maintain continued communication with Duke Energy and problem solve as needed.

Conduct field checks on crews to ensure Duke Energy goals are met on time.

Coordinate with Duke to ensure all materials needed to perform job are provided.

Conduct safety meetings.

Monitor weather forecast and conditions.

Ensure assigned crews are properly trained to complete all tasks.

Adhere to OSHA standards and requirements to ensure crews are working safely.

Verify time sheets of all assigned crews and hours worked are recorded accurately.

Hiring and vetting potential candidates and accessing their skills and knowledge based on positions available.

Setting up lodging for assigned crews and ensuring all information is conveyed to those needing the accommodation.

Organizing and maintaining all workflow folders and ensuring they are emailed to designated districts.

Investigate the scene of any accident or incidents that occur involving any assigned crew members.

Responsible for any disciplinary actions up to and including termination within assigned crews.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years experience in line/lighting and maintenance construction
• Working knowledge of all aspects of construction and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
• Ability to multitask, collaborate with others, set priorities, and take initiative.
• Demonstrated success supporting a team through complex project execution.
• Experience leading project teams and holding them accountable to project goals.

Able to work 40 hours per week, overtime as required, night shifts, work out of town if needed.

• Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
