Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking multiple Transmission Line Engineering Managers to join our growing Power Delivery team in Phoenix, AZ.

Lead engineering and design, develop execution plans, and mentor engineers on transmission projects from conception through delivery. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering, 10+ years in power/transmission, a PE license, and proficiency with PLS-CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in transmission engineering or power market sector.
  • Professional Engineer license recognized by the licensing board.
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).

Responsibilities

  • Leverage technical experience to manage and execute the engineering and design components of transmission projects.
  • Develop and implement a project execution plan for the technical aspects of transmission projects.
  • Work independently and/or direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD technicians and administrative staff.
  • Perform Project Management duties as needed, including supporting the technical scope, schedule, and budget, proposal development, work breakdown structure development, progress assessment, risk assessment/mitigation, change management, and schedule management.
  • Coordinate and/or lead the QA/QC process on projects per HDR's Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world‑class quality.
  • Perform quality checks and/or reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
  • Participate in project reviews as needed.
  • At times, lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
  • Work with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the transmission industry.
  • Assist with development of technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR's technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.

HDR Engineering is currently seeking multiple Transmission Line Engineering Managers to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Leverage technical experience to manage and execute the engineering and design components of transmission projects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction and/or field experience in transmission a plus.
  • Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams; regional, department, and technical managers; and project staff preferred.
  • Experience working with renewables developers and/or the interconnection of renewables a plus.
  • Transmission line design experience using PLS‑CADD, steel and wood transmission structure analysis/design, foundation design, material procurement, specifications, and construction support.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license).
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit).

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Nevada: $119,700.00 to 196,650.00
