Job summary

Disney Streaming Transmission is seeking a technically skilled professional to route and monitor multiple A/V feeds for live events and linear distribution, ensuring uptime across 24/7 operations. You will remotely configure hardware for live broadcasts, troubleshoot issues in real time, and uphold SOPs in a fast-paced TOC environment.

Required: high school diploma; basic understanding of digital distribution equipment and IP transport; familiarity with Microsoft Office; and strong

Qualifications

  • Understanding of digital distribution equipment for broadcast transmission.
  • Basic knowledge of IP based transport (HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, multicast).
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Modestly experienced technical contributor with good communication in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

  • Routing and monitoring multiple A/V feeds to and from facilities.
  • Identifying and resolving issues in a live production environment.
  • Remotely configure hardware for live events and linear acquisition/distribution.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technology/workflows to support assignments.
  • Comply with SOPs and policies.
  • Contribute to analysis or problem-solving measures for operations.
  • Demonstrate comprehension of routine information with operational accuracy.
  • Work a 24/7 schedule in a fast-paced Technical Operations Center.
  • Provide professional, courteous, timely technical support.

Content Platforms & Operations is responsible for the development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, network transmission and origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams. The Streaming Disney Entertainment & ESPN Transmission team supports 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment for Linear and Event streaming products; HULU, ESPN+, and Disney+. As a member of our 24/7, highly skilled streaming transmission team, you will support critical streaming broadcast systems, oversee and analyze audio/video transmissions across multiple data centers and ensuring successful management, monitoring, and delivery of live linear and live event broadcast streams, within the IP based transmission ecosystem.

You will work with cutting edge technology and be responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s most valuable sports and entertainment content airing on our linear and event streaming platforms. Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
  • Routing and monitoring multiple A/V feeds to and from our facilities.
  • Quickly identifying and resolving issues in a live production environment.
  • Remotely configure hardware as required for live events and linear acquisition and distribution.
  • Maintain knowledge of new technology and workflows to support various assignments.
  • Comply fully with company and or department SOPs and any other stated policies.
  • Contribute to analysis or problem‑solving measures needed to support the operation.
  • Must be adept at understanding routine information and demonstrate comprehension through operational accuracy.
  • Able to work a 24/7 schedule in a fast paced, high profile Technical Operations Center (TOC).
  • Provide professional, courteous, and timely technical support.
Basic Qualifications
  • Understanding of digital distribution equipment for broadcast transmission.
  • Basic knowledge of IP based transport (HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, multicast, etc.)
  • Must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Modestly experienced technical contributor with good communication skills working in a 24/7 technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Broadcasting experience, military experience within related fields, or similar transferrable experience.
Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position in a remote location is $74,300.00 - $99,500.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/ou other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
