Job summary

Sun Devil Auto, part of the Sun Auto Network, seeks a Transmission Builder for our Phoenix stores. Since 1978 we have helped our community keep vehicles running smoothly.

You will disassemble and rebuild automatic transmissions, diagnose issues, price parts, and troubleshoot. We offer a Monday–Friday schedule, bi-weekly pay, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation and sick time, 6 holidays, and full medical/dental/vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Possess current, valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior experience working on Transmissions.
• At least five years of experience building common 4, 5 and 6 speed automatic transmissions.

COMPENSATION: $30-$50/ Hour DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a transmission rebuilder with at least five years of experience who can work in our Phoenix stores. Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

The Transmission Builder will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.

The Transmission Builder must be able to meet the following physical requirements:

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Hear and speak
• Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
