Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals is a leading North American rail services provider supporting industrial shippers with access to Class I railways. We are seeking Railcar Loaders / Transload Operators to load and unload railcars, operate transloading gear, and uphold safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include inspections, documentation, and assisting switching crews. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload railcars and transfer products.
• Operate transloading equipment, pumps, conveyors, and mobile equipment.
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and minor equipment repairs.
• Complete operational logs and safety documentation.
• Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.
• Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly.
• Support switching crews and other site operations as required.

The company provides a wide range of rail services including industrial switching, material handling, terminal & transload services, short line operations, railcar staging, train assembly, and related services.

Hourly pay for this position will be $21 per hour.

Railcar Loaders / Transload Operators safely load and unload railcars while ensuring compliance with operational, environmental, and safety standards. This role includes operating transloading equipment, handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials, performing inspections, completing documentation, and supporting rail operations as needed.

• Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working at heights
• Industrial or hazardous materials experience considered an asset
• Must meet customer and regulatory safety requirements, including background screening
