Job summary

Prisma International, Inc. is seeking US-based professional LEGAL TRANSLATORs to join our independent contractor team. You will provide written translations from English into your native language, with editing and proofreading as required.

Minimum requirements include ATA or DSHS LTC certification, expertise in legal terminology and court forms, and two years of U.S. court translation experience. You must be fluent in English and the target language, and comfortable using XTM CAT tool and Adobe

• Subject matter expertise in legal terminology and court forms.
• Adhere to the ATA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
• Two years of experience providing written translations to U.S. state courts and judicial offices.
• Adhere to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and related Addenda.
• Fluent in English and the target language.
• Experience with CAT tools – XTM is provided.
• Ability to work with PC and MAC formats including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, PDFs with fillable fields, rich text, and XML/text blocks.

Responsibilities

• Provide purely human written translations using a CAT tool; machine translation is prohibited.
• Adhere to project instructions, glossaries and reference materials.
• Ensure source content's meaning, style and register are preserved for the target language.
• Perform language quality checks before delivery.
• Deliver completed jobs by deadlines and budgets.
• Review translated PDFs for accuracy using Adobe markup tools.
• Communicate promptly with Prisma team members.
• Participate in quality management processes (CARs, RCAs).
• Protect sensitive information (PHI, PII, SBU).
• Adhere to Prisma's MSA and Vendor Guide.

TRANSLATOR Job Posting - Prisma International

We are seeking US-based professional LEGAL TRANSLATORSto join our independent contractor team.You will be providing written translation, editing and proofreading from English into your native (target) language. To be considered for hire, you must meet all minimum requirements listed below. Project assignments are assigned onan as-needed basis according to your availability.

LANGUAGES

TIER 1 - Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Cebuano, Chamorro, Dutch, Estonian, Fulani, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hmong, Hungarian, Igbo, Ilocano, Ilonggo, Indonesian, Italian, Karen, Kikuyu, Kinyarwanda, Kurdish, Latvian, Lingala, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Malayalam, Marathi, Marshallese, Mongolian, Nepali, Oromo, Palauan, Rohingya, Rundi, Shona, Sinhalese, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Somali, Swahili, Tajik, Tamil, Telugu, Turkish, Turkmen, Twi, Uzbek, Wolof, Yoruba, Zulu.

TIER 2 - Chuukese, Czech, Ewe, Finnish, Georgian, Hakha Chin, Khmu, Kyrgyz, Luganda, Mandinka, Norwegian, Soninke, Tongan.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - You must meet ALL of the following requirements:

• ATA Certified - or - DSHS LTC Certified in the target language pair. One of these certifications is required.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in legal terminology, judicial procedures and court forms.
• Adhere to the ATA Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
• Two years of experience providing written translations to U.S. state courts and judicial offices.
• Adhere to Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA), related MSA Addenda.
• Fluent in English and the target language.
• Experience and ability to use modern CAT tools - we provide XTM to you.
• Ability to work with PC and MAC formats including MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, PDFs with fillable fields, rich text, and XML/text blocks. You must have Adobe Acrobat on your device and know how to use Adobe's markup tools in a PDF file.
• Reliable desktop PC or laptop with dedicated, secure, high-speed internet connection.

TASKS &RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide purely human written translations using a Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool. We provide XTM access to you. Machine/AI translation is strictly prohibited.
• Adhere to all project work instructions, glossaries andreference materials provided to you.
• Ensure the source content'sconcept, style and register are culturally and linguisticallyappropriate for the target language.
• Perform languagequality check steps (before delivery)to ensure the target translation is error-free andtrue to the meaning of the source document.
• Deliver completedjobs by given deadlinesandproject budgets.
• Review formattedtarget language PDF files for accuracy; mark any corrections needed. Using Adobe mark-up tools is required.
• Communicate in a timely and professionalmanner with Prisma team members.
• Willfully participate in quality management processes, e.g.Corrective Action Reports (CARs),Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), solution implementation.
• Take all measures necessary to protect andkeep private sensitive information shared with you to carry out translation projects(e.g.PHI, PII, SBU).
• Adhere topolicies and processes defined in Prisma's Master Service Agreement (MSA) and the Prisma Vendor Guide.

OTHER ATTRIBUTES

• Excellent communication skills and quick responses to Prisma project team requests.
• Ability to accommodate fast turnarounds for small word count projects.
• After hours andweekend ability is a plus.
