Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Transitions Project Manager to oversee supplier transitions, site moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits, and merger and acquisition integration.

This onsite role protects continuity of supply for our manufacturing operations. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Design Engineering, Copy Exact, Supplier Engineering, Quality and Materials, turning project and supplier data into clear decisions while analyzing trends and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma) are a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data visualization) required; Tableau/Power BI/SQL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Manage assigned supplier transitions from scoping through qualification, implementation and closure, tracking milestones, dependencies and risk.
• Supplier Qualification: Support site and part qualification plans - coordinating inspection and validation activity with engineering and quality partners, and tracking findings through to closure.
• Change Management: Manage Supplier Notifications (SNFs) for assigned work, confirming incoming changes meet process requirements, resolving system conflicts and moving approvals forward.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead project teams spanning Design Engineering, Copy Exact, Supplier Engineering, Supplier Account Management, Quality, Business Unit Materials and supplier contacts, keeping work moving and issues resolved.
• Analytics & Reporting: Analyze part, supplier and qualification data to identify trends and risks, and produce status and risk reporting that supports project and business decisions.
• Communication & Continuous Improvement: Communicate status, risk and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at every level; document decisions, and contribute to the team's templates, guidelines and standards.

Role Overview

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Transitions Project Manager. The role is based in our Austin, Texas office and is onsite (not remote or hybrid).

As a member of the Global Supply Chain Transitions team, you will manage supplier transitions - site moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits, and merger and acquisition integration support - that protect continuity of supply for Applied's manufacturing operations. This role suits a proactive, analytical and collaborative project manager who enjoys coordinating cross-functional teams, working directly with suppliers, and turning project and supplier data into clear decisions. Must have strong data analysis and reporting skills. Must have experience managing cross-functional projects from scoping through closure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 4-7 years of experience in project or program management within a matrixed or global organization.
• Supply chain, procurement or sourcing experience preferred.
• Engineering or technical background is a plus.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma) are a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data visualization) required; experience with Tableau, Power BI or SQL preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Proven ability to build relationships and drive work across diverse teams and geographies.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable. For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
