Job summary

Hampton Roads Transit seeks dynamic, customer service oriented security personnel in the Norfolk area to join a committed team protecting riders, facilities, and assets. You will monitor surveillance, perform patrols, and respond to incidents to ensure safe, reliable transit operations.

Responsibilities include documenting incidents, enforcing policies, coordinating with law enforcement, and assisting with emergency services as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in security environment preferred.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and coordinate with law enforcement.
• Ability to document incidents and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Prevent crimes and protect assets and patrons at transit facilities and vehicles.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services.
• Respond to security incidents and emergencies to maintain operations.
• Document issues in daily logs and reports.
• Enforce policies and conduct proactive patrols on foot or by vehicle.
• Monitor video surveillance and access control systems.
• Use telecommunications tools to communicate with staff or emergency services.
• Conduct investigations and address security concerns as assigned.
• Carry a weapon for de-escalation and defensive purposes.
• Prevent unauthorized access to HRT sites or services.
• Maintain records in compliance with Records Management Policies.

The protection of HRT assets or personnel as well as patrons in the transit environment. Close coordination with local law enforcement and emergency services in response to security or safety incidents. Responding to and remediating active security incidents or other emergencies and ensuring continuity of transit operations.
