Job summary

Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver seeks a Transit Police Officer to enforce state laws, conduct investigations, and protect riders and employees. This safety sensitive role requires POST certification, a valid Colorado driver's license, and flexible scheduling including nights and weekends.

You will perform evidence collection, write detailed reports, and participate in counter-terrorism planning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 21 years of age at hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Colorado POST certification or provisional POST certification preferred.
• Flexibility to work afternoons, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Colorado state law through observation and patrol.
• Investigations related to theft, workplace violence, crimes on RTD property, and crimes against patrons and employees.
• Process crime scenes and collect/analyze evidence.
• Prepare comprehensive written reports and implementation plans to protect employees and patrons.
• Complete citations and arrests as needed.
• Support RTD employees through security-related training.
