Job summary

Metro’s Transit Police Department seeks an armed sworn officer to supervise field, traffic, and investigative duties, directing enforcement of laws and providing technical assistance to subordinates and department staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating recruitment, developing training programs, testifying in court, and collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies. Requires strong leadership, ethics, and safety focus in a demanding transit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration or related field.
• Two years of relevant peace officer experience.
• POS T Intermediate Certificate; valid California driver license; pass enhanced background investigation, psychological evaluation, and medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and review staff and activities during an assigned shift or in an assigned function.
• Assist in recruitment, testing, hiring, and training of assigned personnel.
• Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of crimes.
• Present sworn testimony in court.
• Provide training to new officers and ensure compliance with policies.
