Job summary

RATP Dev USA in Columbia, SC, invites applicants to a Transit Driver Job Fair on Tuesday, 11/17 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 3613 Lucius Rd. We offer paid training to obtain permits on day one and a new hourly rate of $19.00.

CDL A/B with Passenger Endorsement is preferred and a revenue-service bonus may apply. We are seeking reliable individuals who can operate various buses safely, serve passengers courteously, and comply with FMCSR rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DOT physical exam mandated.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Bus driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Acts as front-line point of contact to ensure quality customer service.
• Safely operates buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic.
• Assists passengers, including those with disabilities and uses wheelchair lifts as needed.
• Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR per FMCSR.
• Coordinates detour and incident information with radiodispatch and responds to instructions.

• $1000 after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $1000 after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

CDL A/B without Passenger Endorsement Prior to Hire of $1500

• $750 after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $750 after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

Non-CDL (Eaglet Program) of $1000

• $500 after 90 days of employment or upon the release into revenue service
• $500 after 180 days of employment (must be in good standings with attendance)

Employee Referral Bonus program :

Employees are encouraged to refer qualified candidates to join the team

Requirements and Responsibility of the Transit Driver in Columbia

• Actsas front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customerservice.
• Safelyoperates several types of buses through light to heavy city and freewaytraffic safely and prudently.
• Passengers safely andcourteously according to specified routes. To ensure optimization of allroutes, the Bus Driver may make only designated stops in the orderprescribed, unless otherwise communicated by the Dispatch Office.
• Complieswith all federal, state, and local laws about the operation ofbuses, traffic, and safety.
• Ensures the highest quality of bus service isdelivered to our customers.
• Assistscustomers in a safe, friendly, courteous, and helpful manner. This includeshelping customers with disabilities, on and off the wheelchair lift. Asrequested by the customer, the Bus Driver will assist with safety restraints.
• Promotes safety awareness andfollows safety procedures to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Complieswith all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicles to meetcustomer standards.
• Must be able to operate all equipment safely, efficiently, and adequately, including farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment,hatches, and rear engine compartment door.
• Performs pre-trip inspection and completes DVIR in accordance withFMCSR to ensure bus and equipment are in safe, proper working condition.
• Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information to radiodispatch, and responds to instructions given.
• Makeseffective independent decisions and manages conflicts based on safety,experience, training, and policies.
• Follows procedures for thecollection, processing, and documentation of fares and counting passengersas required.
• Reports and properlyfollow up on all accidents or unusual incidents in, on, or near RATP Devvehicles
• Other duties as required
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• requires the candidate to pass a DOT Physical exam
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Bus driving experience highly preferred

Must have a SC License

CDL with Passenger Endorsement preferred (will train the right candidate)
