Job summary

Stantec in Southern California is seeking a Project Manager with account management responsibilities to support LA Metro and other regional transit agencies. The role is based in Southern California (Los Angeles, Pasadena, Irvine or San Bernardino) and focuses on California transit clients.

You will lead transit and transportation projects, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to growth in the California transit market.

Responsibilities

• Perform project management duties on transit and transportation projects, coordinating clients and subconsultants, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality control.
• Serve as the primary client contact on assigned projects and ensure client needs are met in a timely, cost‑effective manner.
• Lead and deliver technical documents, including drawings, reports, cost estimates, specifications, and construction support deliverables.
• Maintain project budgets, establish cost controls, manage schedules, and support monthly billing and forecasting.
• Organize and supervise multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects successfully and ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Coordinate with internal reviewers and discipline leads for technical excellence and consistency.
• Liaise with public agencies, stakeholders, and partners to support approvals and successful delivery.

Your Opportunity

This role blendsproject management leadershipwithaccount management supportfor major public transit agencies in Southern California, includingLA Metroand other local and regional transit authorities. You will manage the delivery of transit and transportation projects while helping strengthen client relationships, support account planning, and position Stantec for continued growth in the California transit market.

You will work closely with project teams, account managers, business development leaders, and technical specialists across Stantec’s Transportation practice to deliver high‑quality work, ensure client satisfaction, and support strategic growth.

Your Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

• Perform project management duties on transit and transportation projects, including client and subconsultant coordination, schedule and budget management, and quality control.
• Serve as the primary client contact on assigned projects, ensuring client needs are met ina timelyand cost‑effective manner.
• Lead andbe responsible forthe preparation and delivery of technical documents, including engineering drawings, reports, cost estimates, specifications, and construction support deliverables.
• Maintain project budgets,establishcost controls, manage project schedules, and support monthly billing and forecasting.
• Organize, coordinate, and supervise the work of multidisciplinary technical teams, guiding projects to successful completion.
• Ensure projects meet applicable agency standards and requirements and adhere to Stantec’s QA/QC and Project Management frameworks.
• Coordinatewith internal peer reviewers and discipline leads to ensure technical excellence and consistency.
• Liaise with public agencies, stakeholders, and partners to support project approvals, permits, and successful delivery.

Client & Account Management (Transit – Southern California)

• Support account management efforts forLA Metroand otherSouthern California transit agencies, aligned with Stantec’s Win, Do, Manage, and Grow pillars.
• Contribute to the development and execution of account plans, including client engagement strategies, pursuit planning, and relationship management.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with client project managers, technical staff, and leadership within California transit agencies.
• Participate in regular account team meetings and coordination efforts to align project delivery and growth strategies.
• Support proposal and pursuit activities, includingscopedevelopment, fee estimates, schedules, and client interviews.
• Identifyopportunities for cross‑discipline collaboration within the Transportation practice to better serve transit clients.
• Track and support active and future opportunities within existing on‑call contracts and upcoming transit programs.
• Maintain awareness of client priorities, capital programs, and procurement approaches relevant to California transit agencies.
